The European Commission released the following Press Release today, 7th June 2018:
For the next long-term EU budget 2021-2027, the Commission is proposing €100 billion for research and innovation.
A new programme – Horizon Europe – will build on the achievements and success of the previous research and innovation programme (Horizon 2020) and keep the EU at the forefront of global research and innovation. Horizon Europe is the most ambitious research and innovation programme ever.
Commission Vice-President Jyrki Katainen, responsible for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness, said “Investing in research and innovation is investing in Europe’s future. EU funding has allowed teams across countries and scientific disciplines to work together and make unthinkable discoveries, making Europe a world-class leader in research and innovation. With Horizon Europe, we want to build on this success and continue to make a real difference in the lives of citizens and society as a whole.”

Big Data PPP Lighthouse Projects Information day
A special Information and Networking Day dedicated to H2020’s ICT-15 ‘Big Data PPP: Large Scale Pilot actions in sectors best benefitting from data-driven innovation’ (also known as Lighthouse Projects) will be organised by DG Connect – Data Value Chain Unit, on 1st December 2015 in Albert Borschette Congress Center in Brussels.
Lighthouse projects are large scale Innovation Actions aiming to practically demonstrate how big data technologies can be transformative for data intensive industrial domains. Lighthouse projects are expected to deliver commercial and technological impact. Possible industrial domains of applications include (but are not limited to) health, energy, environment, earth observation, geospatial, transport, manufacturing, finance, media.
Predict Conference 15-17 Sept., Dublin
The Predict Conference Dublin takes place from the 15-17 September 2015 at the Royal Dublin Society (RDS). This interactive conference will feature leading international thinkers in the areas of Data, Predictive Models, Technology and Decision making. The Predict Conference’s goal is to democratise big data modelling and make it accessible and available to everyone. EU Brokerage Event on KET, Strasberg
The German and French Enterprise Europe Network Alsace with the Europe Alsace Network organise a brokerage event with the objectives to present the future framework program of research and innovation “Horizon 2020” and the first calls for proposals to be published by the end of 2013.
Participants will have the opportunity to present their own concepts and to meet representatives from companies/SMEs, universities and research organisations in order to exchange ideas during pre-arranged meetings. The aim is to pave the way for future co-operations and European projects including call topics for 2014 and 2015.

Nanomedicine ETP Annual Event +H2020 Brokerage
The European Technology Platform for Nanomedicine, with the support of the ENATRANS Coordination and Support Action, organises its 2015 Annual Event in Dublin, Ireland. The event will take place from 13th to 14th October, kindly co-organised and hosted by the Trinity College Dublin.
This year’s annual event aimed at providing the European Nanomedicine community with best practices and new services while defining the strategy for Nanomedicine in the larger scope of enabling technologies for healthcare.
As Nanomedicine is one component to tackle the current challenges in healthcare, cooperations with other components is crucial to provide medical applications with complete innovative solutions, for the benefit of the patients. This approach requires collaborations within the larger ecosystem, including specialists from biomaterials, Medtech, In-vitro diagnostics, biosensors, ICT …
